Overview Every quarter, AE drops a new Forbidden & Limited List to reshape the format. On June 27th right after the World Championship 2026 Asia Qualifiers concluded, the July 2026 AE list was revealed, bringing sweeping changes across multiple generic engines. Here’s a quick recap of the adjustments: Forbidden No changes This section staying untouched is surprising, especially with certain floodgates still running rampant. Limited Bystial Magnahmut — A justified hit. Its power and utility made it overdue for restriction. Vanquish Soul Hollie Sue — A consistency blow and a turn-zero check for Vanquish Soul. Its Level 5 body also fueled the K9 engine, so this hit matters. Rahu Dracotail — Mirroring the OCG, this cut sharply reduces Dracotail’s consistency. Synchro Overtake — Another OCG-aligned hit. With Kewl Tune freshly released in AE, the focus seems to be on trimming indirect engines first. This slightly slows the deck without touching its core. Dimensional Barrier — Long overdue. The hits to Vanquish Soul, Dracotail, and Dimensional Barrier are meaningful, but leaving cards like Maxx “C”, Droll & Lock Bird, and Called by the Grave untouched keeps the format tilted toward oppressive hand traps and negation. Kewl Tune and Branded remain poised to dominate, and while the semi-limit on Branded Fusion slows things slightly, it won’t stop the deck from being a top contender.
