[RespectYGO] Soar to New Heights with “Floowandereeze”! | Archetype Starter Guide
Soar to New Heights with “Floowandereeze”! | Archetype Starter Guide Ready to take your game to the skies? Meet Floowandereeze, the deck that’s all about birds with big dreams and even bigger combos! Whether you’re a seasoned duelist or just winging it, Floowandereeze is here to make your dueling experience soar. It’s time to spread your wings and show everyone who’s the real top bird in the nest with our newest Floowandereeze starter guide! Here’s a quick guide to get you started with building your own Floowandereeze deck: Meet the “Floowandereeze” cards! Honorary “Floowandereeze” tech cards Sample Decklist Basic Strategy and Gameplay Summary   Meet the “Floowandereeze” cards! The Floowandereeze monsters are currently composed of Level 1 and Level 10 monsters. The Level 1 monsters have similar effects where they are banished when they leave the field face-up and can return themselves back to hand when a Winged-Beast monster is Normal Summoned making them great in grind games. Your goal is to bring out the level 10s or other higher-level Winged-Beast monsters to provide card advantage, additional interruption, or card removal. Let’s discuss the core cards of the strategy! Floowandereeze & Robina Floowandereeze & Robina is one of the basic starters of the deck. Your go-to search is Floowandereeze & Eglen so you can easily climb to your level 10s. Ratio: Play three copies.   Floowandereeze & Eglen Floowandereeze & Eglen is your usual follow-up search from Floowandereeze & Robina. It is your gateway to access any level 7 or higher Winged-Beast monster from your deck to your hand. Ratio: Run three copies.   Floowandereeze & Stri Floowandereeze & Stri is your go-to bird to banish a card from either GY. It combos well with Floowandereeze & Toccan to help you banish the Floowandereeze cards in your graveyard if they happen to be placed there. Ratio: Run 1-3 copies.   Floowandereeze & Toccan Floowandereeze & Toccan allows you to recycle your banished Floowandereeze card, whether a monster or a Spell or Trap. Ratio: 1-2 copies.   Floowandereeze & Empen Floowandereeze & Empen is your go-to boss monster in this deck as it fetches your Floowandereeze Spell/Trap cards and acts as a floodgate for attack position special summoned monsters. This disables link monsters from attempting their effects as they are always summoned in attack position, and Empen ensures he’s the king of the battlefield as it can reduce the attack/defense of the opponent’s monster it is battling to half at the cost of banishing a card from your hand! Ratio: Run 1-3 copies.   Floowandereeze X Snowl Floowandereeze X Snowl is your secondary boss monster that could turn all your opponent’s special summoned monsters face-down on their turn at the cost of banishing a card from your hand on their turn. It can also help in dealing piercing battle damage while it is face-up. Ratio: 0-1 copy.   Floowandereeze and the Magnifent Map Floowandereeze and the Magnificent Map helps you search the required Floowandereeze card that fits your scenario and helps you land your combos safely. By banishing another level 1 Floowandereeze monster from your deck, your first Floowandereeze level 1 normal summon that searches (Robina or Eglen) are safe from a potential Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring for as long as you place the triggering effect of the banished level 1 as chain link 2. On your opponent’s turn, it allows you to immediately Normal Summon 1 Floowandereeze monster when your opponent Normal summons a monster. Ratio: Run 3 copies.   Floowandereeze and the Advent of Adventure Floowandereeze and the Advent of Adventure has three purposes: Search a Floowandereeze monster or Floowandereeze Field Spell, help you gain additional 500 life points, and allow you to dodge a potential targeting hand trap by banishing the Floowandereeze monster you summoned that you need to trigger to continue your combo. It’s a versatile spell card that boosts your deck’s consistency. Ratio: Run 3 copies.   Floowandereeze and the Unexplored Winds Floowandereeze and the Unexplored Winds is a nice addition to the deck to help you use your opponent’s card as a material for your Tribute summons. Since this (1) effect doesn’t activate, it can help you clear your opponent’s Expurrely Noir, as Noir is only unaffected by activated effects. Its second effect allows you to shuffle back up to 2 Winged-Beast monsters in your hand to the bottom of your deck to draw additional cards, allowing you to dig for better cards to start your flight and unbrick your hand from high-level Winged Beast monsters. Ratio: Run 0-1 copy in the main or side deck.   Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town is your go-to trap card to search from Floowandereeze & Empen. It provides additional interruption by allowing you to normal summon 1 Level 4 or lower Winged Beast monster when activated (preferably on your opponent’s turn) to bring out interruptions such as Raiza the Mega Monarch or Mist Valley Apex Avian. It also has a graveyard effect that can change all the monsters your opponent controls to face-down defense position by banishing itself when you tribute summon a Level 7 or higher monster. Ratio: Run 1-2 copies.   Floowandereeze and the Scary Sea Floowandereeze and the Scary Sea can help shut down all the special summons of your opponent’s monsters if it successfully negates the special summon of a monster in exchange of allowing them to Normal summon/set up to 3 times that turn. However, it can only negate special summons that do not start a chain (aka inherent special summons), so the activation window is quite limited, and you would want to prioritize searching Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town instead. Ratio: Run 0-1 copy.   Honorary “Floowandereeze” tech cards One strength of the “Floowandereeze” strategy lies in the tech cards you can run in this deck. Aside from your immunity to Maxx “C”, below are additional cards that you can consider: Raiza the Mega Monarch This is your go-to Winged Beast monster for card removal and can potentially block your opponent’s next good draw by placing one of the targeted cards on the top of their deck. Ratio: Run 1-2 copies.   Mist Valley Apex Avian This provides an instant omni-negate, especially when your opponent forces your Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town to be activated (when they are about to enter the battle phase for Evenly Match or they activate board wipes). Ratio: Run 1 copy. (Main Deck or Side Deck)   Dimension Shifter Aside from using Dimension Shifter to tame Snake-Eyes and other graveyard-reliant decks from progressing, it can also prevent your opponent from using popular interruption cards such as Effect Veiler, Droll & Lock Bird, and Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit. It also provides additional utility to Floowandereeze & Toccan, allowing it to recycle more targets. Ratio: Run 2-3 copies. (Asian English allows up to 3 copies, the more the merrier :D)   Harpie’s Feather Storm Harpie’s Feather Storm allows you to shut down your opponent’s monster effects for the turn it resolves for as long as you control a WIND Winged Beast monster. This can easily be achieved as Eglen, Empen, Mega Raiza, Apex Avian, and Toccan. Ratio: Run 1-3 copies in the main deck or side deck.   Sample Decklist Since “Floowandereeze” is now available in Creation Pack 05, below is a sample list using the Asian English format. Main Deck: 40 Monsters: 23 3 Floowandereeze & Robina 3 Floowandereeze & Eglen 2 Floowandereeze & Stri 1 Floowandereeze & Toccan 2 Floowandereeze & Empen 1 Raiza the Mega Monarch 1 Mist Valley Apex Avian 3 Maxx “C” 3 Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring 3 Dimension Shifter 1 Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo   Spells: 13 3 Floowandereeze and the Magnificent Map 3 Floowandereeze and the Advent of Adventure 1 Floowandereeze and the Unexplored Winds 2 Pot of Extravagance 2 Pot of Duality 2 Pot of Prosperity   Traps: 4 1 Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town 3 Infinite Impermanence   Extra Deck: 15 3 Downerd Magician 3 Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus – Sky Thunder 1 Super Starslayer TY-PHON Sky Crisis 2 Drytron Fafnir 1 Tantrum Toddler 1 S:P Little Night 1 Accesscode Talker 1 Underworld Goddess of the Closed World 2 Linkuriboh   Basic Strategy and Gameplay   Basic Combo: Normal summon Floowandereeze & Robina> Use its effect to add Floowandereeze & Eglen Immediately normal summon Floowandereeze & Eglen > Use its effect to add Floowandereeze & Empen. Tribute summon Floowandereeze & Empen> Use its effect to add Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town> Chain Robina and Eglen from banished and recycle them back to your hand (or leave one of them as banished for potential chain block next turn. On your opponent’s turn. Activate Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town to normal summon Floowandereeze Robina/Eglen> Eglen search Raiza the Mega Monarch or Mist Valley Apex Avian and tribute summon them using your Robina and Eglen etc. Tip: When using the effect of Raiza the Mega Monarch, you can target itself and return it to hand when it effects resolve. This ensures that when you use Floowandereeze and Dreaming Town, you can tribute summon the same Raiza the Mega Monarch in your hand and use its effects again.   Summary Understanding the current meta and knowing how to counter popular decks will give you an edge when using Floowandereeze. Adjust your deck and side deck accordingly to handle different matchups. The more you play, the better you’ll understand the nuances of your deck. Playtest against various opponents to refine your strategy and improve your decision-making. Floowandereeze deck offer a lot of versatility, so use that to your advantage. Remember, the most important part of any game is to enjoy yourself. Floowandereeze is a fun and unique deck, so have a blast experimenting with different strategies and combos. I hope this guide captures the spirit you’re looking for! This has been ArcKnight of RespectYGO. Happy Dueling! 😊

[RespectYGO] What makes the “Millenium”/ “Exodia” deck unstoppable? | Archetype Starter Guide
[RespectYGO] What makes the “Millenium”/ “Exodia” deck unstoppable? | Archetype Starter Guide “By the power of the forbidden one, I call forth the ultimate force! Arise, Exodia Incarnate, and unleash your unstoppable might upon the battlefield!”   Exodia is one of the most iconic and legendary monsters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading card game. Known for the deck’s unique win condition, the Exodia deck revolves around assembling all five pieces of Exodia the Forbidden One: the head, left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg. Once all five pieces are in the player’s hand, they automatically win the duel. With the arrival of Infinite Forbidden and Rage of the Abyss, Exodia gained new strength and gameplay in the form of the new Millennium and Wedju cards! That’s why today, we have prepared a starter guide to help you unleash the forbidden strength sealed in a millennia! Ready to summon the Unstoppable Exodia? Let’s begin. Introducing the Millenium and Exodia Key Cards Sample Decklists Basic Strategy and Gameplay Summary   Introducing the “Millenium Exodia” keycards Sangenjin Wakes from a Millenium Sangenjin has finally awakened and can fetch the other Millennium monsters using its search effect. It also has built-in protection, and its 2750 ATK is something not to overlook. Ratio: Play three copies. Shield of the Millenium Dynasty The classic Millennium Shield with its new accent. By itself, it can instantly search the key spell card Millenium Ankh, which is the key to summoning The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate. Sangenjin Wakes from a Millenium can help in bridging to this monster or Blue-Eyes of the Heart. It is also a free body like the rest of the Millenium monsters. Ratio: Run three copies. Golem That Guards The Millenium Treasures This Millenium monster lets you search their field spell, Wedju Temple, which can also search the other Millenium monsters. It’s also a free body that can be used as free material for summoning. Ratio: Run 1-3 copies. There are instances where you can directly search Millenium Shield from Sangenjin, especially if you don’t have Millenium Ankh to reveal and cover the 2000 damage. Fiend Reflection of The Millenium This monster can help you gain the life points you lost from the Millennium monster or The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate. As an Illusion monster, it can shield you from battle, especially in tight situations. Ratio: Run 0-1 copy. It is a good tech choice. Maiden of the Millenium Moon Another classic monster! Like Fiend Reflection, this monster can special summon itself from the Spell/Trap Zone by reacting to one of your opponent’s cards or effect activation. If you do, it protects your illusion and spellcaster monsters from being targeted by effects, ensuring that your Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate is immune to common targeting effects like S:P Little Night. Ratio: 0-1 copy. Blue-Eyes of the Heart The newest Millennium monster and Blue-Eyes monster from RAGE OF THE ABYSS! Inspired by Solomon Mutou’s very own Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Blue-Eyes of the Heart ensures your plays won’t be stopped when a single Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring is chained against the search effect of Millenium Shield. It can also search the Millenium Ankh, revive itself, and act as a nice removal. Ratio: Play three copies. The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate The core play of the new age Exodia deck. It has five effects, which range from card effect destruction protection, attack boost, Spell/Trap negation, card search, and maintenance cost. The deck aims to summon this instantly with Millenium Ankh and potentially “obliterate” the opponent’s life points on a single attack. It also has amazing artwork! Ratio: Run 2-3 copies. The Forbidden One monsters Now is your time to break the seal and learn about Exodia’s ultimate power. You need to include the five parts of Exodia to fulfill the requirements of Millenium Ankh. Ratio: 1 copy each. Millenium Ankh The key to unleashing the Unstoppable Exodia! It’s a powerful spell that can bring out your Exodia fusion by revealing 5 Forbidden One monster cards from hand, deck, or field. Your goal is to be able to reach and resolve this spell card to land on the Unstoppable Exodia. Drawing this card is also nice, as it alleviates the 2000 LP damage caused by other Millennium monsters. Ratio: 3 copies. Wedju Temple The theme’s field spell. You can use this to instantly search the Millenium monsters that can help you land on Millenium Ankh. It also has a neat second effect in mid to late games. Ratio: Run 1-3 copies. Obliterate!!! Blaze The newest spell that The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate can set by its effect. You would normally set this card after you survived the opponent’s turn while The Unstoppable Exodia is still face-up during the end phase, preparing you to strike back when it’s your turn. This can instantly give 10,000 ATK (2000 per body part). Run 0-1 copy. Exxod Fires of Rage The newest Exxod trap that you can set via The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate. This trap lets you destroy every card your opponent controls by controlling a level 10 Exodia monster. This ensures you can prevent your opponent from establishing their board and help clear the board to finish them the following turn. Ratio: 1-2 copies.   Sample Deck Lists Post INFINITE FORBIDDEN    Post RAGE OF THE ABYSS Basic Strategy and Gameplay   Your gameplay is simple: bring out the Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate and set Exxod Fires of Rage for additional field control. If you start with a couple of Millenium monsters, you can use them to set Angel Statue – Azurune via Silhouhatte Rabbit for that additional special summon negate. Since most of your combos are 1 to 1.5 cards, you still have room for hand traps to complement your endboard. I prefer having another Exxod Fires of Rage in my deck as my second search so I can clear the opponent’s board when the turn comes back to me, and I can finish them off with Exodia or the Millenium monster attacks. Summary The Exodia deck remains a fan favorite due to its unique win condition and the thrill of assembling all five pieces. It holds a special place in the hearts of many duelists for its nostalgic value and the sheer excitement of achieving an instant win. With the new support in Infinite Forbidden and Rage of the Abyss, the deck received a power boost that could potentially turn this deck into an unstoppable force. Be sure to check out Essential Selection 01 to get your hands on the Forbidden One monsters in Asian English! Is the Millennium Exodia Archetype the Key to Your Next Duel? Comment below! [RespectYGO] Gear up for Victory with “Ancient Gear”! | Archetype Starter Guide
“From the depths of ancient machinery, Rise, a colossal titan of gears and steel! Unleash your power and crush my foes, Ancient Gear Golem!” Before the OTK-centric theme “Tenpai Dragon”, Ancient Gear existed as one of my go-second decks when I started playing the game. As a Yu-Gi-Oh! GX fan, I’ve always been a fan of the Ancient Gear theme with its intricate gear designs, hinting at ancient origins. Now that further support cards are released in Creation Pack 04,  Legacy of Destruction, and Animation Chronicle 2024, I feel this is the perfect time to share yet another archetype starter guide to feature one of my favorite machine decks. Are you ready? Let’s begin. Introducing the “Ancient Gear” Key Cards Sample Decklists Basic combos Summary   Introducing the “Ancient Gear” key cards Ancient Gear includes various cards since its release and in this article, we’ll only focus on the key Ancient Gear cards that are used in the competitive scene. Like always, feel free to customize your deck based on your preference and playstyle. 😊 Ancient Gear Wyvern Ancient Gear Wyvern is one of the key searchers of the deck. It also has a bonus effect of preventing your opponent from activating any monster effects until the end of damage step when it attacks. Ratio: Run 3 copies. Ancient Gear Dark Golem The newest retrain of the classic Ancient Gear Golem and it has great uses ranging from searching up to 2 Ancient Gear cards of choice and/or Geartown upon summoned and preventing Spell/Trap cards from being activated by your opponent when it attacks until the end of the Damage step. Ratio: Run 2-3 copies. Ancient Gear Statue Ancient Gear Statue is the newest support card for Ancient Gear in Animation Chronicle 2024. It searches the entire clan and lands in a swift OTK on its own. It has a neat first effect that allows you to special summon it for free from your hand if your opponent controls more monsters than you do. By tributing itself via its second effect, you can special summon 1 Ancient Gear Golem or any 1 other monster that mentions Ancient Gear Golem from your Deck or Hand, ignoring summoning conditions! This can instantly allow you to summon Ancient Gear Dark Golem for more card advantage and a possible OTK. Not only that, but its 500 ATK allows it to be searched by Ancient Gear Box. Ratio: Run 3 copies.  Ancient Gear Tanker Ancient Gear Tanker is one of the newest Ancient Gear cards in Legacy of Destruction. It has an effect to “unbrick” your higher-level Ancient Gear monster from your hand or simply allow you to swarm the field with an additional body. If your opponent controls a monster, you can even revive it from your Graveyard instead. It also has effect to destroy 1 face up card you control and give an ATK boost which will also trigger Geartown or Ancient Gear Fortress when they are destroyed. Ratio: Run 1 copy. Ancient Gear Box From the artwork itself, it is a toolbox that can further extend your plays as it can add 1 EARTH Machine monster with 500 ATK and/or DEF from your deck to your hand when this card is added from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. This allows you to search a wide-range of 500 ATK or DEF Ancient Gear monsters specifically your newest starter, Ancient Gear Statue. Ratio: Run 1 copy. Ancient Gear Commander This card is based-off Dr. Vellian Crowler’s iconic pose and duel disk. Like Ancient Gear Tanker, Ancient Gear Commander also helps in further extending your plays by allowing you to do an extra normal summon of another Ancient Gear monster by sending Ancient Gear Golem from your hand, Deck, or face-up Monster Zone. Since most of your key searchers like Wyvern and Dark Golem prevent you from setting Spell/Trap cards when you use their search effects, Ancient Gear Commander allows you to directly place 1 Ancient Gear Continuous Trap card from your hand face-up on your field. Ratio: Run 1 copy. Ancient Gear Frame Ancient Gear Frame is your pseudo–Ancient Gear Wyvern at the cost of a discard. It can also search your key Spell Card Ancient Gear Advance which leads to your new key boss monster, Ancient Gear Dark Golem. Post AC04, Ancient Gear Statue can already take its place, but this is still useful in post LEDE builds in my opinion. Ratio: Run 0-3 Ancient Gear Golem Of course, the monster line-up won’t be complete without the classic Ancient Gear Golem. You won’t likely summon it like how you do in the anime, but you’ll use it mostly as a fusion material for your Ancient Gear fusion monsters for its name or swarm the field when going first. (But if you ask me, I’d like to summon it if given a chance to destroy my opponent :D) Ratio: Run 1 copy. Ancient Gear Chaos Giant Ancient Gear Chaos Giant is one of your OTK (One-Turn Kill) enabler. Defense position monsters won’t be enough to guard your opponent’s life points as this card can inflict piercing damage when it attacks them. It also has a Spell/Trap effect immunity and can totally shut down your opponent’s monster effect activation during the battle phase. Ratio: Run 1-2 copies. Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem The ultimate machine from the ancients! Like Ancient Gear Chaos Giant, it inflicts piercing battle damage on your opponent when it battles a defense position monster. It retains the classic Spell/Trap prevention when it declares an attack. When destroyed, it can revive a fallen Ancient Gear Golem from your GY ignoring summoning conditions. Ratio: Run 1 copy. Ancient Gear Megaton Golem Ancient Gear Megaton Golem is another OTK option as it can instantly deal 9900 damage provided it’s an empty field you are facing, and you have used 2 or more Ancient Gear Golem and/or Ancient Gear Golem – Ultimate Pound as materials. It can also float to 1 Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem from your Extra Deck when it leaves the field due to an opponent’s card effect. The only downside is you are at risk of bricking by maining multiple copies of Ancient Gear Golem. Ratio: Run 0-1. Ancient Gear Howitzer Ancient Gear Howitzer is another option to fusion summon as it only requires 2 Ancient Gear monsters. It is immune to any other card effects and can inflict 1000 damage during your main phase to your opponent. When destroyed by battle, it can special summon any 1 Ancient Gear monster from your Deck, ignoring its summoning condition. Ratio: Run 0-1. Ancient Gear Ballista Ancient Gear Ballista is one of your generic go-to link monsters to summon in case you didn’t start with your key searchers. It can also help in dealing more damage by reducing the attack of one of your opponent’s monsters to 0 and destroying 1 Spell/Trap card you control preferably Geartown and Ancient Gear Fortress. Ratio: Run 1-2 copies. Geartown One of your go-to search with Ancient Gear Ballista and can help you in fetching 1 Ancient Gear monster of choice so long as it can be special summoned. It can also aid in tribute summon by reducing the tribute cost by 1 if needed. Ratio: Run 1-2 copies. Ancient Gear Fortress Before Sangen Summoning, there is Ancient Gear Fortress. It ensures that your opponent won’t have a chance to disrupt the arrival of the Ancient Gear monsters ranging from targeting effects, card destruction, or even effect negation or response the turn they are Normal or Special summoned. It can also special summon 1 Ancient Gear monster from your hand/or Graveyard when destroyed in the Spell and Trap zone. Remember, this card can be activated multiple times so you can use other copies of Ancient Gear Fortress as baits if needed. Ratio: Run 3 copies. Ancient Gear Advance The newest Ancient Gear Spell Card in Legacy of Destruction and one of the best so far. When activated, it allows you to search for 1 Ancient Gear Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand except itself. It combos really well with Ancient Gear Catapult and allows you to search your Ancient Gear Fortress to shield your monsters. Since Ancient Gear Catapult only works if you control no monsters, you can use this card’s second effect to tribute 1 monster you control to draw 1 card and potentially normal summoning 1 Ancient Gear Golem or a level 5 or higher monster that mentions it without tributing. Ratio: Run 3 copies. Ancient Gear Catapult Ancient Gear Catapult works well in combination with Geartown and Ancient Gear Advance to search the Ancient Gear monster that you need. It also has an additional effect to generate an Ancient Gear Token by destroying a face-up card you control by banishing itself from your Graveyard. Ratio: Run 1-3 copies. Ancient Gear Fusion The fusion spell of Ancient Gear which allows you to fusion summon your Ancient Gear Fusion monsters with ease. If you use Ancient Gear Golem or Ancient Gear Golem – Ultimate Pound you control as a Fusion Material, you can also use the rest of the material straight from your deck. Ratio: Run 1-2 copies. Ancient Gear Duel Ancient Gear Duel ensures that your Ancient Gear Golem or monsters that mention it on your field are safe from monster effects especially when your OTK fails while it is face-up. You can also use it to fusion summon an Ancient Gear Fusion monster with an additional power to attack up to three times by banishing materials from your field or Graveyard including an Ancient Gear Golem you control. Ratio: Run 1 copy. Check out the other Ancient Gear cards here. Sample Deck Lists Below are two sample deck lists that you can use as a baseline. Be sure to watch the sample combos right after to see how this deck works.   Ancient Gear (Asian English) post LEDE Ancient Gear (OCG) Post AC04   Sample Combos Watch this video to see the basic 1 to 1.5 card combos of Ancient Gear as your starting point. Enjoy!   Summary The Ancient Gear archetype is an aggressive deck that aims for One Turn Kills (OTKs). It emphasizes Tribute and Fusion Summons, Battle Phase control, and multiple attacks. If you’re looking for a deck that has high OTK potential, consistent summons, unique Battle Phase control, and fun playstyle, Ancient Gear is worth considering! [RespectYGO] Discover the Ancient Secrets of “Shining Sarcophagus”! | Archetype Starter Guide
Discover the Ancient Secrets of “Shining Sarcophagus”! | Archetype Starter Guide “Descend with wrath that consumes all and obliterates our foes! Emerge from brilliance, Gandora-G the Dragon of Destruction!”   Shining Sarcophagus is a new archetype in the Legacy of Destruction Asian English Edition. Imagine an ancient tomb filled with hidden power waiting to be unleashed! This theme revolves around the card Shining Sarcophagus, a retrain of the classic Gold Sarcophagus, which offers protection and deck-searching abilities. Whether you’re a seasoned duelist or a curious beginner, Shining Sarcophagus invites you to explore its secrets and wield its unique abilities on the battlefield. Are you ready to delve into the mysteries of this ancient artifact? Archetype Overview Introducing the “Shining Sarcophagus” Key Cards Additional Tech Cards Sample Decklists Summary Archetype Overview Shining Sarcophagus is a new theme introduced in Legacy of Destruction (OCG, TCG, and Asian English), which received further support from Infinite Forbidden and Valuable EX-4. The deck revolves around their key spell card, Shining Sarcophagus, with related cards that provide the deck consistency, removal, and control. These cards are modernized versions of the ones Yugi Muto used in his Duels, but this time without Yami Yugi’s influence in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga and anime series. As a theme, the deck can function on its own and doesn’t require the intervention of an extra deck that much. The deck’s unique playstyle makes it a perfect choice for new or seasoned players who want to try something different! Introducing the “Shining Sarcophagus” key cards Gadget Trio Gadget Trio is one of the key searchers of the theme. Upon being Normal or Special summoned, it can add 1 Shining Sarcophagus or any 1 Spell/Trap that mentions it from your Deck to your hand. It can also set 1 Stronghold, the Hidden Fortress, from your Deck when destroyed, making it a perfect match when resolving the effect of Gandora-G, the Dragon of Destruction. Ratio: Run 3 copies. Silent Magician Zero   Silent Magician Zero is one of the key monster defenses of the theme. It grows from “Zero” to “Hero” as it increases its level every time the opponent draws a card, which also increases its ATK. It can also negate the activation of a Spell Card or Effect while you control a Shining Sarcophagus, which also increases its level by 1 in return. Run 1-2 copies. Silent Swordsman Zero   Silent Swordsman Zero is your key card to protect your Shining Sarcophagus or a monster that mentions it from card effects. It also gains ATK depending on its level via the Standby Phase or when it successfully negates a targeting effect. Ratio: Run 1-2 Moremarshmallon An interesting take from the classic Marshmallon is that this new monster ensures your other monsters are protected from attacks, and it can surprise the opponent trying to finish you off by summoning from your hand during your opponent’s turn if you control Shining Sarcophagus. As this card cannot be destroyed by battle while controlling Shining Sarcophagus, your opponent’s only out are non-targeting effects or destruction. When destroyed by a card effect, you can special summon another copy of Moremarshmallon from your hand, Deck GY, or banishment, and inflict 1000 damage. Ratio: Run 0-2 copies. Gandora-G the Dragon of Destruction Gandora-G the Dragon of Destruction is the retrain of the classic Gandora the Dragon of Destruction. This monster gets bigger for every banished card x300, and it can special summon itself for free when you control a Shining Sarcophagus. By paying half of your LP, you can destroy as many other cards on the field as possible and banish them. In addition, you can special summon 1 level 7 or lower monster that mentions Shining Sarcophagus from your deck with a bonus effect to increase the summoned monster’s level by the number of cards destroyed by this card’s effect. One thing to note is that Shining Sarcophagus has a continuous effect that protects it from being destroyed by monster effects, so you wouldn’t worry about destroying your key card. Ratio: Run 2-3 copies. Dark Magician the Ebon Sorcerer   The newest addition from INFINITE FORBIDDEN (INFO). Aside from gaining the original Dark Magician name while in the monster zone, it can also summon itself for free from your hand while you control Shining Sarcophagus. When destroyed by a card effect and you control a level 5 or higher monster on the field (most likely Gandora-G the Dragon of Destruction), it can special summon itself back, and then you can set 1 Spell/Trap from your deck to your field that mentions Dark Magician. Ratio: Run 1-2. Archfiend’s Arrival   Archfiend’s Arrival appears to be the retrain of Summoned Skull, and it has the effect to take control of 1 monster from your opponent’s field when summoned. It also provides an attack boost on your turn for your other monsters while you control this card. Ratio: Run 0-1 Shining Sarcophagus   The retrain of the classic Gold Sarcophagus is back with extra abilities! It protects itself from being destroyed by monster effects, making it immune to Ghost Ogre and Snow Rabbit or your own Gandora-G! During your main phase, you can add 1 card that mentions its name from the texts from your deck to your hand. It also has a bonus effect: you can send an opponent’s monster special summoned from the Graveyard at a cost of 1 Spell card from your hand when that opponent’s monster is special summoned! Ratio: Run 3, no exceptions. Future Silence Future Silence lets you search for any monster that mentions Shining Sarcophagus from your deck to your hand. It is also a quick play spell, which makes it versatile as you can bypass a possible Droll & Lock Bird from the opponent when you activate this card during your draw phase. When you use this card during the battle phase while you control Shining Sarcophagus, you can also allow both players to draw cards until both have 6 cards in their hand helping you regain enough card advantage to complete your set-up. Use it wisely, as it could be risky and give your opponent a free card advantage, too. Ratio: Run 3 copies. Turn Silence Turn Silence provides a potential attack boost to your Silent monsters, and a possible monster negate when activated in response, and you control Shining Sarcophagus. It also has a bonus Graveyard effect to end the battle phase when your monster that mentions Shining Sarcophagus battles by banishing this spell card from your Graveyard, making it a nice counter against Tenpai Dragon. Ratio: Run 2-3. Ties that Bind Ties that Bind helps bring up to 2 additional level 4 or lower monsters with different names that mention Shining Sarcophagus from your hand and/ or Deck, allowing you to search for the monster you need or bring out the Silent monsters for protection. It has the downside of preventing you from special summoning from your Extra Deck for the rest of the turn this card resolves, but who needs an extra deck if you….already have the friends you made along from Ties that Bind :v Ratio: Run 1-3 copies. Stronghold the Hidden Fortress Stronghold the Hidden Fortress is your go-to search when Gadget Trio is destroyed. It protects you from attacks and gets bigger depending on the number of Shining Sarcophagus and monsters that mention it. Ratio: Run 0-1. Dark Magic Mirror Force The retrain of the classic Mirror Force. This new trap card is searchable in the theme, and it protects you from battle or your monsters from being destroyed by battle or card effects. In return, it can destroy all attack position monsters your opponent controls and can inflict an additional 500 damage for each monster destroyed by this trap effect when you control Dark Magician. Ratio: 0-1. Additional Tech Cards The play style of the Shining Sarcophagus deck is control and beatdown. It isn’t grave reliant, and Gandora-G also benefits from banishing. Below are the cards that could work with this deck: Pot of Extravagance Pot of Prosperity Dimension Shifter Dimensional Fissure Macro Cosmos Destined Rivals Secrets of Dark Magic (for a possible Guardian Chimera)     Sample Deck Lists Below are two sample deck lists constructed for Asian English format (Nov 2023) with cards until Legacy of Destruction Asian English Edition (LEDE-AE) in mind. Shining Sarcophagus (Pure Version) – This build is focused on bringing out the Shining Sarcophagus monsters and ensuring that you are protected from battle with the help of Moremashmallon and Stronghold the Hidden Fortress. While your Silent monsters are protected, they’ll have a chance to get bigger each turn, making them a potential threat.     Horus Shining Sarcophagus – This incorporates the Horus engine, helping you dig for additional draw power or additional offense and defense with the Horus The Shining Sarcophagus aids in providing the deck an additional negate via Turn Silence or an additional rank 8 XYZ material via Gandora-G Dragon of Destruction.   Summary The Shining Sarcophagus deck stands out for its impressive control capabilities, thanks to cards that manipulate the game state and hinder the opponent’s strategies. Despite being new to the scene, the deck remains consistent and flexible, offering a unique playstyle. If you enjoy control-oriented strategies, this deck might be a great choice! Are you ready to uncover the ancient secrets of the Shining Sarcophagus? This has been ArcKnight of RespectYGO. Thanks for reading until the end.

[RespectYGO] What’s the best way to pilot “Tenpai Dragon”? | Archetype Starter Guide
What’s the best way to pilot “Tenpai Dragon”? | Archetype Starter Guide “Unleash your fiery wrath upon the battlefield! Let your scales shimmer like molten gold, and your claws pierce through destiny itself! With flames that span the heavens, descend upon us, “Sangen Superdragon Transcend Dragion”!!! Welcome to the Tenpai Dragon Archetype Starter Guide, where I share the basics of the archetype and strategies on taking this deck to the next level! If you’re willing to join the fire dragon army, continue reading ‘til the end and meet our dungeon “Dragions”! Archetype Overview Introducing the “Tenpai Dragon” Key Cards Sample Decklist Sample Combos Summary Archetype Overview Tenpai Dragon is a new Fire Dragon theme that debuted in Legacy of Destruction (LEDE) and will soon be available in the same set in Asian English. It received further support in Infinite Forbidden (INFO), strengthening the theme further. Its playstyle is straightforward: Reduce your opponent’s LP to 0 by overwhelming the opponent with your attacks during the battle phase via an OTK (One-Turn-Kill).  Since your goal is to OTK, this deck shines further when you pilot it as go second at the start of the game. The usual build of Tenpai Dragon is hand-trap heavy, so you are almost guaranteed to survive the following turn. Let’s learn more about the Tenpai Dragon group and the cards you’ll need to be prepared for your ultimate battle! Introducing the “Tenpai Dragon Key Cards All Tenpai Dragon monsters except Tenpai Dragon Genroku can synchro summon using itself and another monster during the battle phase. Note that this effect isn’t hard once per turn, so every new copy can use this strategy if you have available materials. Tenpai Dragon Baidora Tenpai Dragon Baidora is one of your main starters, which searches or sets any Sangen Spell/Trap card upon its summon. It has a continuous effect to prevent you from taking battle damage. It also has the effect to synchro summon on either battle phase. Ratio: Run 2-3 copies. Tenpai Dragon Chundra The main tuner of the theme. Chundra, by itself, can facilitate an OTK when uninterrupted. It has an effect to special summon 1 Level 4 or lower Fire Dragon monster from your deck at the start of the damage step when any monster battles. It can also act as an extender from hand as it can special summon itself for as long as you control a FIRE Dragon monster. Ratio: Run 3 copies. No exceptions. Tenpai Dragon Fadora Tenpai Dragon Fadora helps extend your plays further by reviving any 1 Level 4 or lower Fire Dragon monster from your Graveyard upon summon or when a monster battles at the start of the damage step. It also protects your Fire Dragon monsters from being destroyed by battle, ensuring that Tenpai Dragon Chundra can still ram on your opponent’s monster without worrying about being destroyed by battle. Like the rest, it can also facilitate synchro summoning in either battle phase. Ratio: Run 1-2. Tenpai Dragon Genroku Tenpai Dragon Genroku is the newest Tenpai Dragon searcher, boosting the deck’s consistency even further. It is known as the Snake-Eyes Poplar of the theme as it can special summon itself as a tuner from hand when added. On the field, it can tribute itself to special summon any 1 level 4 or lower FIRE Dragon from your deck as well. Ratio: Run 1-3.  Dora Draco This isn’t a Tenpai Dragon, but its effect screams Tenpai. When normal summoned, it can add 1 Level 4 or lower FIRE Dragon monster from your Deck to your hand. This helps you search for any Tenpai Dragon monster, specifically Tenpai Dragon Chundra or Tenpai Dragon Genroku. Ratio: Run 0-3. I prefer one copy and treat it as an additional Baidora; some prefer running three copies for consistency. Sangen Risedragon Bident Dragion The first themed Sangen synchro of Tenpai Dragon. It is very helpful in bridging to an instant level 10 Dragon synchro when combined with a level 3 monster. It is a tuner, becoming the main tuner after you utilize Chundra. Once per duel, it can also revive itself and destroy a spell/trap (non-targeting) when the third attack is declared in turn. The revival can add an extra push and body for an additional synchro summon. Ratio: Run 2-3. Sangen Superdragon Transcend Dragion The boss monster of the archetype. Once this synchro monster is summoned and you start entering the battle phase, your opponent can no longer activate any card or effect, helping you gain control of the battle phase. It also forces monsters to attack if possible and change their battle position to attack mode. While in the Graveyard, it can also revive itself post the third attack declaration in a turn with a bonus effect to destroy any 1 card on the field (non-targeting). Impressive card! Ratio: Run 1-2. Trident Dragion The very first Dragion and where Tenpai Dragon theme was inspired. Trident Dragion helps push for more battle damage as it can attack multiple times depending on the number of cards destroyed using its effect.  Ratio: Run 1.Spell and Trap: Brimming Sangen Manor It is a very powerful field spell card that has three effects. First, it protects FIRE Dragon monsters you control from activated effects. This ensures your combo lands safely before you enter the battle phase. Second, You can use its effect to search any 1 Tenpai Dragon from your Deck to your hand and discard one card. Lastly, it can double the attack of 1 Dragon Synchro monster when destroyed. Ratio: Run 3 copies. Sangen Kaimen A powerful, quick-play spell card that lets you search any 1 Fire Dragon monster from your Deck or special summon 1 Fire Dragon from your hand. The best part is that you can use both effects in sequence when it is activated during the battle phase. Ratio: Run 3. Sangen Kaihou The first Sangen trap from INFINITE FORBIDDEN. Its first effect immediately lets you end a main phase when your opponent controls more monsters than you do, and all the monsters you control are FIRE Dragon monsters. This forces the opponent to enter the battle phase if they still want to take advantage of the main phase 2 or proceed directly to the end phase. This card combos well with Sangenpai Superdragon Transcend Dragion as it forces their monsters to attack. Its second effect provides extra draw power and swam when three attacks have been declared. Ratio: Run 0-1 copies. Sample Decklist Here is a sample deck list following the OCG April 2024 Forbidden and Limited List. This is the most recent list, on which I placed 9th-16th in the World Championship 2024 Asia Qualifier. Sample Combos Watch these two basic combos as your foundation in playing Tenpai Dragon. Tenpai Dragon Chundra 1 card OTK (Empty Board) Tenpai Dragon Chundra 1 card OTK (1 monster that can’t be destroyed by battle) Summary If you’re looking for a deck that is easy to pilot, budget-friendly, and can end games easily, Tenpai Dragon is your best bet. This deck has a lot of single-card combos that can land the same result: to achieve an OTK.  Since Tenpai Dragon is already a go-second-centric deck, I strongly recommend practicing against mirror matches and against decks with a strong first-turn end board, as these are Tenpai Dragon’s toughest matchups in my experience.  This has been ArcKnight of RespectYGO. Thanks for reading until the end.

[2024JUN] One Piece Card Game Meta Shift: Top Decks Dominate the Scene
One Piece Card Game Meta Shift:  Top Decks Dominate the Scene The One Piece Card Game has undergone a significant shift with the recent ban of the "Akainu" (赤イヌ) card, which was previously dominant in the meta. The ban has sent shockwaves throughout the competitive scene, and players are now scrambling to adapt to the new environment. As we move into the new era, several decks have emerged as strong contenders for the top spot. One of the most formidable decks is the "Trafalgar D. Water Law" (Red Purple) deck, which utilizes the powerful "Trafalgar" (ST10-001) card. This deck excels at controlling the board early on, using its effects to remove opponent characters and set up for a strong finish. The "Trafalgar D. Water Law" deck is particularly effective at dealing with opponents who try to play aggressively, as it can quickly remove their characters and take control of the board. Its ability to use "Don!!" cards to accelerate its own characters makes it a formidable opponent.Another strong deck is the "Luffy" (Yellow Black) deck, which features the "Monkey D. Luffy" (ST13-014) card. This deck uses its leader effect to add 2 cards to its life total when it has no cards in its hand, making it a strong contender in the mid-game.The "Luffy" (Yellow Black) deck also has a strong control element, allowing it to remove opponent characters and set up for a strong finish. Its ability to use its leader effect to add cards to its life total makes it a formidable opponent.Other notable decks include the "CP0 Rob Lucci" deck, which uses the "Rob Lucci" (OP07-079) card to control the board and remove opponent characters. The "Enel" (Yellow Energy) deck, which features the "Enel" (OP05-098) card, is also a strong contender, using its leader effect to add 1 card to its life total each turn. In conclusion, the current meta of the One Piece Card Game is highly competitive, with several decks vying for the top spot. Players will need to adapt quickly to these new developments and adjust their strategies accordingly.

[RespectYGO] Create The Perfect Harmony With “Melodious”! | Archetype Starter Guide
Create The Perfect Harmony With “Melodious”! | Archetype Starter Guide "Angel's song! Supreme genius! With the guidance of the baton, gather your power! Fusion Summon! Now come here to the stage! Sing the song of victory! Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir!" The Melodious archetype in Yu-Gi-Oh! is a series of cards known for their musical and harmonic themes. It is primarily composed of LIGHT Fairy-type monsters, each with unique abilities that allow them to work together in harmony, much like an orchestra. This article will provide an overview of the Melodious cards, a sample deck list, and basic combos for players interested in conducting their own Melodious symphony. Archetype Overview Introducing the “Melodious” Key Cards Sample Decklist Sample Combo Summary Archetype Overview Melodious was one of my first OCG decks back in the Arc-V era, and I like two things about its theme the most: Budget-friendly and music-related. I can recall the number of times I was able to establish the Aria-Elegy lock (where all your Melodious monsters cannot be destroyed by battle and card effects, and players cannot target them with card effects!), which was almost impossible to break back in the day. Fast-forward: Melodious received its new support in LEGACY OF DESTRUCTION, and the initial cards are now available in Asian English in the CREATION PACK 04 booster pack. It has now received more consistency and interruption, which can be achieved with only a single card. After piloting it in ranking, I’m excited to reintroduce the theme and share what I learned. Let’s get started!   Introducing the “Melodious” Key Cards The melodious theme is composed of different cards, and to optimize your experience, we will only focus on the cards that see competitive play. Aria the Melodious Diva Aria is one of the first Melodious cards introduced in the game. In today’s meta, it is played to solidify your end board and protect your Melodious monsters from targeting effects and battle destructions. It also has a neat play against Rescue Ace, so you are safe from their targeting effects. Ratio: Play 1 copy.   Elegy the Melodious Diva  Elegy is the “BFF” of Aria. While this card is on the field, it protects the Melodious monsters you control from being destroyed by card effects. When it is also special summoned, all fairy monsters you control gain 300 ATK. The only downside is that it’s level 5 and has a risk of bricking with it. Melodious has many ways to special summon this card, so you can still end up summoning it to the field to maximize its abilities. Ratio: Run 0-1.   Sonata the Melodious Diva   Sonata is your best extender that can also serve as an ATK/DEF buff. The 500 boost is no joke, especially when you have multiple Sonatas. YES—The special summon isn’t hard once per turn, and you can have multiple Sonatas on your field 😊 This extra Melodious body can facilitate Fusion Summon or Link Summon. Ratio: Run 2-3. I run three as drawing Multiples can still help me land on Bloom Harmonist the Melodious Composer. Canon the Melodious Diva The other Sonata, but this Melodious Diva, is hard once per turn. It is a level 4 Melodious monster that can help you bring out powerful XYZ monsters. Its second effect isn’t used much, and its primary purpose is to be an additional extender. Ratio: Run one copy. Soprano the Melodious Songstress On the next wave of Melodious, Melodious Fusion monsters were introduced, and Soprano is one of the major ways to access this mechanic in the theme. By itself, it brings back a fallen Melodious monster from your Graveyard back to your hand when it is special summoned. This effect can only be used once per turn. Its second effect is a soft once-per-turn effect that allows you to Fusion summon 1 Melodious Fusion monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters you control as material, including itself. You can fusion summon repeatedly so long as you have a new copy of Soprano ready to do it, which is perfect for easily bringing out your Fusion monsters. Ratio: Run 2 copies. Tamtam the Melodious Diva This is your second Main Deck monster that allows you to fusion summon as it searches 1 Polymerization when special summoned while you control a Melodious monster. If it is sent to the Graveyard as material for a Fusion monster, you can inflict 500 damage to your opponent by reducing the ATK of 1 of your Melodious monsters by 500, which is a small price to pay. Ratio: Run 0-1 copy. Shopina The Melodious Maestra Melodious Maestras are high-level main deck Melodious monsters that are used not just because of their effects but also because they are named Melodious Maestra, which is an important factor in summoning some of our Fusion monsters. Shopina the Melodious Maestra gets a slot in our deck as it can help you climb to more extenders due to its effect of recycling 1 LIGHT Fairy monster in your GY back to your hand. Remember, you cannot activate non-LIGHT monster effects during the turn you use its effect, so when you already used Ash Blossom and Joyous Spring to negate a Maxx “C,” for example, you can no longer recycle that turn and vice versa (You cannot use non-LIGHT monster effects after you recycle.) Ratio: Run 1 copy.  Refrain the Melodious Songstress Refrain is one of the newest Melodious monsters from LEDE. This card is so good that it has made Melodious very consistent. Its first Monster effect lets you add 1 Melodious monster from your Deck to your hand when it is Normal or Special Summoned (Except itself). Its second monster effect allows you to place it from face-up Extra Deck back to your pendulum zone when a Melodious Fusion monster is Special summoned to your field. You normally would want to use Refrain as one of your initial fusion materials, and it still gives you a free pendulum scale in return! Its pendulum effect allows you to boost the attack of one of your Melodious Fusion monsters by sending one Melodious monster from your Deck to the Graveyard until the end of the turn. The ATK boost is 200 X the level of the sent monster, so if you send Shopina, it’s a 1400 ATK boost! Ratio: Run 3 copies. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Couplet the Melodious Songstress Here’s the BFF of Couplet and one of the newest Melodious monsters from LEDE. Like Couplet, it can act as a free pendulum scale. It can also help unbrick your Melodious monsters from your hand or revive a Melodious monster from your GY. Its pendulum effect lets you search any 1 Melodious Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. You would normally use it to search for their newest fusion spell, Melodious Concerto. Ratio: Run 3 copies. Drawing multiple still allows you to Fusion summon Bacha the Melodious Maestra which searches the entire choir of Melodious. Fusion Monsters: Bacha the Melodious Maestra Bacha from LEDE is your newest main go-to Melodious fusion monster to get the orchestra going. The activated effects of Melodious Fusion monsters cannot be negated. At the same time, you control this fusion-summoned card, so you are safe from Ash Blossom and Joyous Spring or a negate specifically responding to the activated effect. When special summoned, you can special summon any 1 Melodious monster from your deck! When it is sent to the Graveyard, you can special summon 1 Melodious monster in your GY except itself. This fusion card is so good that I ran out of good adjectives to describe it. :D Ratio: Run 3 copies in your Extra Deck. Schuberta the Melodious Maestra Schuberta is now your second go-to fusion that uses any 2 Melodious monsters like Bacha. It has an excellent way of controlling the Graveyard as it can banish up to 3 cards in any GY to gain 200 ATK for each permanently! It’s a soft once per turn that you can regain the banish effect when you banish this card with Flowering Etoile the Melodious Grand Choir! It is also perfect to help dodge Called by the Grave when your opponent is targeting your hand trap in your GY. Ratio: Run 2-3 copies. Flowering Etoile the Melodious Grand Choir The newest Melodious boss monster from LEDE and this will serve as your end board’s grand encore! It requires 1 Melodious Maestra monster and 2 Melodious monsters to fusion summon and this is easy with the help of the theme’s new support. It has two effects: First, a quick effect that allows you to banish any Melodious monsters you control (until the end phase) to return up to that many face-up cards from your opponent’s field back to hand. Since these effects happen on resolution, it can help you dodge a sudden Nibiru the Primal Being or board wipes like Evenly Match or Raigeki. Its second effect ensures you can summon a new Melodious monster from Deck or Extra Deck when it leaves the field due to your opponent. This also works even if it is tributed by a Kaiju so have a safety net that can still help you survive that turn. Ratio: Run 2-3 copies. Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir One of the classics from the anime series, Bloom Diva, is something you would bring out to finish the game. It inflicts burn damage when it battles a Special Summoned monster. Due to its battle and card effect protection, it inherits part of the effects of Aria and Elegy. It is also a pseudo-Yubel, as you take no battle damage from battles involving it. Ratio: 0-1. I personally prefer to include 1 copy in the Extra deck. Bloom Prima the Melodious Choir Bloom Prima comes in handy if you want to push for the game. It gains 300 ATK for each material for its fusion summon and can attack twice. Two materials ensure that at least 2500 ATK can generate a 5000 ATK damage swing. When sent to GY, it can help you return 1 Melodious monster from your GY back to hand. The downside is that you need 1 Melodious Maestra as part of the material cost when you fusion summon this card so use it wisely or just go straight to Bloom Diva or Flowering Etoile. Ratio: 0-1 copy. Bloom Harmonist the Melodious Composer Bloom Harmonist is the lone link monster of the Melodious theme. It can dig for any Melodious monster in your deck. Its material is only two Fairy monsters, and this is where your extenders shine. Often overlooked, it has an interesting effect that prevents your opponent from activating any cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step when a Melodious monster this card points to attacks. Ratio: Run 1-2 copies. Spells Ostinato This powerful spell card is reminiscent of Fusion Destiny and Branded Fusion. The only difference is that it is unlimited. This Spell card allows you to bring out your powerful Melodious fusion monsters free using two materials from your hand and/or deck. It also instantly sets up the Aria/Elegy lock when you use Aria the Melodious Diva and Elegy the Melodious Diva as materials, as Ostinato can revive the same materials used for the fusion summon by destroying the fusion summoned monster during the end phase. Run 3 copies. 1st Movement Solo This Spell card lets you bring out 1 level 4 or lower Melodious monster from your hand or Deck. This can help you bring out either Refrain the Melodious Songstress or protect yourself from targeting by special summoning Aria the Melodious Diva, as examples of monsters you can special summon. The downside of this card is that you are already limited to special summoning only Melodious monsters the turn you activate this card, so you would most likely prioritize using Ostinato and use this Spell as a backup. Ratio: Run 3 copies for consistency. Melodious Concerto Melodious received its fusion spell, which is searchable by Couplet the Melodious Songstress. It can use materials from your hand, field, and pendulum zones to make your Couplet and Refrain free materials every turn! It also has its way of recycling itself to the Deck to help you draw an additional card if a Melodious Fusion monster is sent to the Graveyard! Sample Decklist Here is a sample deck following the April 2024 OCG Forbidden & Limited List. Sample Combo Here’s a combo using 1 “Ostinato”:     Summary If you’re looking for a deck that is fun to play and can compete in the current meta, Melodious is a contender. Remember, the key to mastering this deck is understanding the unique abilities of each Melodious card and knowing when to play them in harmony.   This has been ArcKnight of RespectYGO. Happy dueling!

[RespectYGO] Why should you play “Salamangreat”? | Archetype Starter Guide
Why should you play “Salamangreat”? | Archetype Starter Guide "Surging flame, awaken Heatlio's true strength with the power of purification! Reincarnation Link Summon! Resurrect, the king of beasts that runs through the fire prairie! Salamangreat Heatlio!"   Soulburner is my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains character, that’s why when I heard that Salamangreat got new support recently, it brought back some good memories when I piloted this theme when the structured deck came out. With the upcoming Salamangreat Sanctum Structure Deck in Asian English, I feel this is the perfect time to reignite the flame and share a quick starter guide on how to play Salamangreat. Are you ready to unleash the flame? Let’s go! Archetype Overview “Salamangreat” key cards Sample Decklist Summary   Archetype Overview Salamangreat is an all cyberse archetype that consists of animals with flame-themed armor. The term Salamangreat is a portmanteau of Salamander and Great. It is widely known as the deck of Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains character Soulburner and the deck is focused on summoning powerful monsters ranging from Link, XYZ, Synchro, Fusion, and Ritual. The deck’s main gimmick lies in swarming the field with Salamangreat monsters and link climbing to your desired Salamangreat link monsters, eventually leading to either a one-turn kill (OTK) or control.   This theme is also popular with its cool strategy called Reincarnation link summon. It can be achieved by summoning a Salamangreat link monster using the same link monster as material or using their main field spell, Salamangreat Sanctuary. The deck’s strategy is solid and versatile, making it a great choice if you want to play something competitive yet fun to pilot.   Let’s know more about the key Salamangreat cards that you need when you construct your Salamangreat deck. Let’s dive in! Salamangreat “Key” cards Let’s discuss the cards that you’ll need in your Salamangreat deck: Monsters Salamangreat Gazelle   One of the key cards of Salamangreat. Salamangreat Gazelle can extend your plays by being a body for summons such as link, and XYZ summon or by sending a Salamangreat card from your deck to your Graveyard. I normally send Salamangreat Spinny to help facilitate the XYZ summon of Salamangreat Miragestallio or Salamangreat Roar and Salamangreat Rage if I already have my extenders in hand. Ratio: Play three copies.   Salamangreat Spinny Salamangreat Spinny goes hand-in-hand with Salamangreat Gazelle, which is your instant access to Salamangreat Miragestallio when combined with another level 3 monster for an XYZ summon. Since being detached as a material doesn’t count as leaving the field, you can use this as a material to bypass that effect when this card is detached so you can revive it again on your next turn and prevent it from being banished! Ratio: Play 2-3 copies. Salamangreat of Fire The newest main deck Salamangreat monster that can search your searchers! When it is normal or special summoned, you can use its effect to add 1 level 4 or lower Salamangreat monster from your deck to your hand except itself. While you become affected by its restriction to only special summon FIRE monsters for the rest of that turn that you used its effect, most of your key Extra deck monsters are FIRE anyway, so you won’t feel the effect that much. Ratio: Run 1-3. While it functions almost like Lady Debug, the Salamangreat name makes it more flexible and searchable.   Salamangreat Foxy Salamangreat Foxy can be a +1 in card advantage when you successfully reveal a useful Salamangreat card when you use its first effect. It also has a second effect that allows you to special summon it back to your field from the Graveyard by discarding a Salamangreat card while a face-up Spell or Trap is on the field and an option to destroy a face-up Spell or Trap card on the field subsequently. This is very helpful in clearing floodgates like Skill Drain or even threats like Nightmare Pain and Barrier of the Voiceless Voice. Also, the destruction effect is part of its second effect resolution, so if your opponent doesn’t respond to this card’s 2nd effect, you can destroy their face-up Spell and Trap card without them having a chance to react anymore! (Or you can bait their negation :D) Ratio: Run 1-3 copies. Salamangreat Jack Jaguar Salamangreat Jack Jaguar is another Salamangreat extender that helps you trigger Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf’s FIRE monster recycling effect. Aside from its piercing first effect, its other purpose is to help you replenish your used Salamangreat monster in your Graveyard back to your deck, especially if you have a reincarnation link summoned multiple times already. Ratio: Run 1.   Salamangreat Weasel This new Salamangreat monster serves as another extender while helping you climb to Salamangreat Raging Phoenix easily with the help of Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames. When you link summon a Salamangreat link monster, use its effect to special summon one other Salamangreat monster from your Graveyard to your opponent’s field and draw 1 card. This would trigger Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames’ effect, to destroy 1 FIRE on your field and 1 special summoned monster on your opponent’s field to revive Promethean Princess. You can then use Salamangreat Raging Phoenix and Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames, to reincarnation link summon Salamangreat Raging Phoenix so it can gain its search effect! Ratio: Run one copy. Salamangreat Falco Salamangreat Falco back in the day can help you gain access to either Number 16: Bagooska or Abyss Dweller in combination with Salamangreat Jack Jaguar. It can also act as an extender by returning 1 Salamangreat monster you control back to your hand to special summon itself from the Graveyard. Lastly, you can set 1 Salamangreat Spell/Trap in your Graveyard when it is sent to Graveyard, which can be useful in some situations. Ratio: Run 0-1. Salamangreat Meer Salamangreat Meer is also a nice tech, as it can turn your Salamangreat Circle into another extender if you exhaust your main Salamangreat extenders. Run 0-1 copy. Code of Soul Code of Soul acts as an extender and your instant way to wipe your opponent’s board via Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix. Excellent card! Ratio: Run 0-1.   Lady Debug An honorary Salamangreat indeed. This is one of the main starters of pre-Salamangreat of Fire, as it can search a level 3 or lower Cyberse monster when it is Normal or Special Summoned. The downside is that it doesn’t have Salamangreat in its name, so when this card is negated, your chances to trigger Salamangreat Gazelle are lesser unless you force the reincarnation link to summon Salamangreat Balelynx via Salamangreat Sanctuary. It is a decent starter and can bait hand traps for sure. Ratio: Run 0-3. Running multiple starters that eat your one normal summon may conflict, so ensure that you test accordingly and adjust based on your preference. 😊 Extra Deck Salamangreat Balelynx Salamangreat Balelyx is your go-to Link 1 monster to trigger Salamangreat Gazelle in hand when you use a Salamangreat monster as a link material or other summons that would send a Salamangreat to the graveyard. Its main purpose is to tutor your Salamangreat Sanctuary field spell to help you do reincarnation links. It also protects your Salamangreat card (s) in battle or card effect once per turn by banishing Salamangreat Balelyx. Run 2-3. Three copies are optimal, in my opinion, as it can help you climb to S:P Little Night easily, too! (If you still have a space for it in your Extra Deck) Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf can help you recycle one FIRE monster when a monster is summoned pointing to its link point. This card combos very well with Salamangreat Jack Jaguar not to mention you can recycle a powerful hand trap such as Ash Blossom and Joyous Spring. (wink) When this card is summoned using Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf (using Salamangreat Sanctuary or using two FIRE monsters including itself if you’d like to do it manually), you can add 1 Salamangreat Spell/Trap from your Graveyard back to your hand during your main phase. For example, you can use it to recycle the Salamangreat Roar you sent via Salamangreat Gazelle to the Graveyard. Run 2-3 copies. Salamangreat Raging Phoenix The cover card of the Salamangreat Sanctum Structure Deck! When it is summoned using another Salamangreat Raging Phoenix as link material, you can add 1 Salamangreat card from your Deck to your hand! You can use this to instantly search any Salamangreat card or strengthen your defenses by searching Salamangreat Roar and Salamangreat Rage. If a face-up FIRE monster (s) you control is destroyed by battle or card effect while this card is in the Graveyard, you can revive this card and even gain the ATK of one of those monsters permanently! This can lead to a potential OTK or help you dominate your opponent’s boss monster! Run 2-3 copies. Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix This link monster can wipe your opponent’s board or inflict massive damage. This card combos well with the new card Code of Soul to facilitate a reincarnation link summon, even on the opponent’s turn! Ratio: Run two copies. Salamangreat Miragestallio The generic rank 3 of Salamangreat. This rank three monster can special summon any Salamangreat monster from your Main Deck in defense position in just one XYZ material detach! Remember, you can no longer use non-FIRE monster effects for the rest of the turn when you use this effect, so be careful. You can also use this XYZ’s effect to target 1 monster on the field and return it to the hand when this XYZ is used as a link material for a Salamangreat Link monster. This effect helps you clear a potential threat or even bait a negate. Ratio: Run 1-2. 1 is optimal in most builds due to extra deck space.   Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames Another honorary Salamangreat link monster. This new link three monster from Phantom Nightmare makes link climbing to Salamangreat Raging Phoenix easy, as it can revive any FIRE monster in your Graveyard. It also acts as your additional interruption while in the Graveyard, so long as you have a valid FIRE target to destroy on your field. Run 1-2 copies. One is optimal in most builds. Spell and Traps Salamangreat Circle The key spell searcher of the theme. You can also use its effect to protect one Salamangreat link monster you control that was link summoned using a monster with the same name as material from monster effects that turn. Ratio: Run three copies.   Salamangreat Sanctuary This is your main field spell in Salamangreat and the best way to fulfill the reincarnation link summon. You can search for this card instantly using Salamangreat Balelyx, so you don’t have to run multiple copies. Ratio: Run one copy. Will of the Salamangreat This is another worth-mentioning spell card that can help further extend your plays as it can special summon a Salamangreat monster from your hand or GY or even more when you send this card, and you have a valid Salamangreat Link monster target that was summoned using its same name as material. Ratio: Run one copy.   Cynet Mining A generic spell that can search any level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from your deck to your hand at the cost of 1 card from your hand. Ratio: Run 1-3. Since you can only activate 1 Cynet Mining per turn, 1-2 copies may be optimal, so multiple copies won’t clog. Salamangreat Roar A powerful omni-negate counter trap card that you can use while controlling a Salamangreat link monster. It can also set itself back when you link summon a Salamangreat Link monster using the same name as the material. Ratio: Run 1-2 copies. Salamangreat Rage   Salamangreat Rage acts as another form of defense on top of Salamangreat Roar. Sometimes, you need something that can help you control your opponent’s field resources, and this card just does that, especially if you control a Salamangreat Link monster summoned using the same name as material. Ratio: Run 1-2.   Sample Decklist Note: This decklist is based on the April 2024 OCG Forbidden & Limited List.   Deck: 40 Monsters: 25 3 Salamangreat of Fire 3 Salamangreat Gazelle 2 Salamangreat Spinny 2 Salamangreat Foxy 1 Salamangreat Weasel 1 Salamangreat Jack Jaguar 1 Salamangreat Falco 1 Code of Soul 3 Maxx “C” 3 Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring 3 Effect Veiler 1 Nibiru, the Primal Being   Spells: 10 1 Salamangreat Sanctuary 3 Salamangreat Circle 1 Will of the Salamangreat 2 Cynet Mining 2 Called by the Grave 1 Crossout Designator   Traps: 5 1 Salamangreat Roar 1 Salamangreat Rage 3 Infinite Impermanence   Extra: 15 3 Salamangreat Raging Phoenix 2 Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix 3 Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf 3 Salamangreat Balelynx 1 Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames 1 Hiita, the Fire Charmer Ablaze 1 Brotherhood of the Fire First Horse Prince 1 Salamangreat Miragestallio   Summary   Salamangreat is one of my favorite decks, and I’m glad it is still making waves in these modern times. If you’re looking for a versatile and competitive deck, you should play Salamangreat.   What are you waiting for? Join the Salamangreat army, and let’s all rise from the valley of flames!   This has been ArcKnight. Thanks for reading until the end!

[RespectYGO]How GOOD is the new “Phantom of Yubel”? | Strategy Discussion
[RespectYGO]How GOOD is the new “Phantom of Yubel”? | Strategy Discussion Heya! It’s me, ArcKnight. Today, I will review the newest support of the Yubel theme called Phantom of Yubel from The Valuable Book EX4. Yes, the fusion monster that is not only played in Yubel but also splashed in other decks. What made this card so popular in the OCG meta, and why should you also consider this fusion monster on your deck? Let’s dive in. Card Overview How useful is the new “Phantom of Yubel”? The Phantom of Yubel Engine How to use this engine? Summary Card Overview   VX04-JP002 Phantom of Yubel (UR) Card Type: Effect / Fusion Level: 9 Rarity: UR Attribute: Dark Types: Fiend ATK: 0 DEF: 0   1 "Yubel" monster + 1 Fiend monster with 0 ATK/DEF Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by shuffling the above cards from your hand, field, and/or GY into the Deck/Extra Deck. Cannot be used as Fusion Material. Cannot be destroyed by battle, also you take no battle damage from battles involving this card. When your opponent activates a monster effect (Quick Effect): You can Tribute this card; that effect becomes "Your opponent destroys 1 "Yubel" monster in their hand, Deck, or field". You can only use this effect of "Phantom of Yubel" once per turn.     How useful is the new Phantom of Yubel? On top of being a new support for the Yubel theme, this fusion card serves several purposes: It protects you from monster hand traps – Phantom of Yubel has an effect that could alter your opponent’s monster effect by allowing you to destroy 1 Yubel monster from your hand, deck, or field instead. Since the summoning of Phantom of Yubel doesn’t start a chain, you can catch your opponent by surprise if they are keeping a Maxx “C” in their hand that could have been used to control your plays that turn. If your combo is weak against monster hand traps such as Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring or Effect Veiler, to name a few, this fusion monster can serve as your answer.   Easy summoning method – To special summon this card instantly, all you need to do is shuffle the required cards, and those are 1 Yubel monster + 1 Fiend monster with 0 ATK/DEF from your hand, field, and/or GY back to your Deck or Extra Deck. When you use its effect to destroy a Yubel monster to counter a monster effect, you can destroy a Spirit of Yubel from your hand or deck, which can special summon a fresh new Yubel from your Hand, Deck, Graveyard, or Banishment. Afterward, you can shuffle the same Spirit of Yubel and Yubel you control to summon another copy of Phantom of Yubel, ready to counter your opponent’s plays the following turn! Take note, the special summon of this card isn’t once per turn, the only limit is the number of copies you own. :D   It helps unbrick your hand – As a Yubel player myself, there are moments I hard draw Yubel or Yubel – Terror Incarnate, and as we know, these cards are better if they stay in your Deck as they don’t propel your plays when drawn. Now, you can look at it differently, as by having Yubel in their names, they can now act as instant materials for Phantom of Yubel, albeit sacrificing hand advantage.   It cannot be destroyed by battle, and it protects you from getting battle damage – Phantom of Yubel is another Yubel-named monster; hence, it combos well with Nightmare Pain. This ensures that your opponent is required to attack only Yubel monsters during their battle phase and must attack if able, protecting your important non-Yubel monster from attacks.   It cannot be used as a fusion material – While that may sound like a drawback, it also has an advantage. By being unable to be used as a fusion material, it is immune to the opponent’s Super Polymerization.   It’s level 9 – Phantom of Yubel being level 9 opens the possibility of summoning Chaos Angel when combined with a level 1 Dark/Light monster such as Samsara D Lotus.     The Phantom of Yubel Engine When using it as a small engine for other decks, below are the cards you need: Two to three copies of Nightmare Throne (May also include Terraforming) One copy of Yubel One copy of Spirit of Yubel One to two copies of Phantom of Yubel   How to use this engine? Card Needed: Nightmare Throne Step 1: Activate Nightmare Throne and use its effect to destroy Spirit of Yubel from your Deck. Step 2: Use Spirit of Yubel’s effect to Special Summon Yubel from your Hand or Deck. Step 3: Shuffle your face up Yubel and Spirit of Yubel from your Graveyard to your Deck to Special Summon Phantom of Yubel from your Extra Deck. You could repeat this step if you successfully used the effect of Phantom of Yubel to change an opponent’s monster effect to destroy a Yubel monster instead. Remember, Spirit of Yubel’s effect to special summon Yubel isn’t limited to once per turn.   Summary Phantom of Yubel is a strong card that could pressure the opponent, whether altering a monster effect, being used as an extender, or just being a Yubel-named monster. If you’re thinking of a new addition to your deck or want to join the Yubel army, Phantom of Yubel is a must. Are you ready to join the Yubel army? This has been ArcKnight. Thanks for reading until the end.
