【January 2024 Limit Regulation Revision】List of Prohibited and Limited Cards | 'Hot Red Dragon Archfiend King Calamity' Banned, 'Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders', 'Ib The World Chalice Miko', 'Heavy Storm' relaxed
Effects of the OCG Limit Regulation Applied on January 1, 2024 (Monday)
It's Impact on the Environment From January 1, 2023 (Monday), the prohibited and limited cards of Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG will be revised. One key point to note is that 'Hot Red Dragon Archfiend King Calamity', which was previously unrestricted, has become a banned card. This will result in a decrease in power for several Synchronous Summon Decks, including Centurion.
Regulating 'Hot Red Dragon Archfiend King Calamity' makes it easier to design new 'Centurion' cards, so we might see enhancements soon.
In any case, for a while, cards like 'Cosmic Blazar Dragon' and others will serve as alternatives for level 12 synchronous summon.
In the environment, 'Emergency!' moving from unlimited to a limited card may cause the usage rate of 'Rescue-ACE Turbulance' to decrease slightly, but it won't change much overall. New 'LIGHT OF DESTRUCTION' seems to be active, so there's a possibility of 'LIGHT OF DESTRUCTION' decks entering the environment. 'the Silver Castle' and 'Purrely' are only slightly regulated.
With recent relaxations, the familiar 'Dragon Ruler' monster is back, but this time 'Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders' has been relaxed from banned to restricted. Next year, we can expect 'Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls' to also be relaxed. Among other cards being relaxed, I would like to highlight 'Sky Striker Mobilize', which has now reached full power with 'Sky Striker'. Also, with recent enhancements, 'Ice barrier' becomes even easier to adopt with 'Ib the World Chalice Justiciar'.
The 'Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition' that will be reprinted in the 'Quarter Century Duelist Box' set releasing on December 23, 2023, has been erased and relaxed from banned to unlimited.
①: You can activate this card's effect when it is successfully summoned or specially summoned from your hand. Destroy all other monsters on the field except this one, and deal damage equal to the attack of the monster with the highest attack among those destroyed to your opponent. The attack of this card becomes the same number as the damage dealt to your opponent by this effect.
②: Activate during your End Phase. Half your LP.

Untouched cards: Since 'Fire King', 'Sinful Spoils', and 'Snake-Eye' were untouched, I believe there will be an increase in fire attribute decks in the environment. Alongside this, 'Bonfire' may further rise.
Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights is also not regulated.
Last year, rumors circulated about the relaxation of 'Majespecter Unicorn - Kirin' due to the strengthening of 'Majespecter Raccoon', but it remained untouched this time. On social media, there were also voices hoping for the relaxation of 'Dragun of Red-Eyes', but it remained untouched.
