Yellow Vegapunk Deck Guide: Strategies and Key Card

The Yellow Vegapunk deck utilizes the new monocolored leader, Vegapunk (OP07-097), featured in the booster pack “500 Years in the Future” released on February 24, 2024. Let’s dive into the deck’s concept, strengths, and weaknesses.

Deck Concept

Yellow Vegapunk revolves around the unique leader, Vegapunk (OP07-097), who cannot attack but has 2 life points. However, by using the special ability of Don!!, you can add a cost-5 or lower character with the Egghead trait from your hand to your life area face-up or bring it into play.

The deck aims to gradually control the board using characters with the Egghead trait early on and then unleash powerful late-game plays with larger characters.

Strengths

  1. Resourceful Deployment: You can deploy characters from your life without using Don!!, thanks to the trigger effect from life.
  2. Late-Game Power: The deck features strong late-game options due to multiple trigger effects and powerful large characters.

Weaknesses

  1. Low Starting Life: With only 2 starting life points, the deck struggles against aggressive decks.
  2. Specialized Build: Being a dedicated Egghead deck, it relies heavily on specific support cards.

Key Cards

1. Vegapunk (OP07-097)

  • A monocolored leader with 2 life points and 5000 power.
  • Cannot attack.
  • Main Ability: Rest a specified number of Don!! cards in your cost area to add a cost-5 or lower character with the Egghead trait from your hand to your life face-up or bring it into play.

2. Atlas (OP07-098)

  • An early-game attacker for Yellow Vegapunk.
  • If your life points are fewer than your opponent’s, Atlas cannot be KO’d in battle.
  • Trigger effect allows you to play it from your hand.

3. Lilith (OP07-111)

  • A rare search card for Yellow Vegapunk.
  • Look at the top 5 cards of your deck and add any Egghead character except Lilith to your hand.
  • Also serves as a strong attacker with 5000 power.

4. Shaka (OP07-101)

  • An attacker and blocker in one.
  • A 6000-power blocker that enters the field via trigger effects.
  • When added to your life by Vegapunk’s leader effect, it can block two attacks.
